History of FlexRide Milwaukee
FlexRide Milwaukee was born out of a research study about connecting workers in Milwaukee with jobs in the Menomonee Falls/Butler area, conducted by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission. The study, funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation, involved testing and evaluating a pilot on-demand transportation service (FlexRide). FlexRide services for this pilot program operated through fall 2022. Additional funding was secured by MobiliSE to continue and expand services after the pilot ended.
Don't take our word for it! Here is what some of our riders have to say...
“It’s been nothing but positive. I would suggest it to anybody. You can’t beat it – go do it.”
...and hear from one of our superstar drivers!
FlexRide Milwaukee is a service of MobiliSE, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving transportation in Southeast Wisconsin through collaboration. MobiliSE received a Workforce Innovation Grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to continue FlexRide Milwaukee services through 2024. Additional funding has been received by Milwaukee County. MobiliSE and partners are also pursuing other public and private funding sources to continue services after 2024 and expand to new areas.
